Pushing ForwardTibetan Sherpas carry all of the baggage of the travelers while climbing up a mountain. That’s what they do. They carry weight. And, they are used to it. Their laboring efforts are vital to the overall, collective good of the team. That’s what its like for any person who works in a small, startup company. Each member is vital. Each person carries the weight of the entire team. Starting a business is anything but easy. It’s a long, laborious climb. It offers tremendous views with a few slopes that will jettison you over cliffs. While critically injured at times, I haven’t been killed yet. The words humbling, exciting, devastating, dangerous, very rewarding, sometimes worth it-come to mind. Take the good with the bad, assess, readjust and move forward. The media industry is a difficult professional journey by traditional standards, especially today’s New Media landscape. It contours slippery slopes and few places for secure footing. Combining traditional forms of credible journalistic standards (imagine that!) with the newest technology and awesome video capabilities will build a new model for information-sharing in the New Frontier of New Media. The new TVWebCity.com web site is just one way Tracie Wells & Company are pushing forward in 2010. We will continue to adapt and adjust, constantly if needed, in order to integrate our Traditional Media Values with the New Media World. We have a vision and, as my dad always said, ‘Persistence and Determination are Omnipotent’. I’d rather be like the pioneers and die forging a way through the Wild, Wild West with visions of a Gold Coast- than stop and set up a shanty in the middle of what’s soon to become a dust-bowl. Of course, there is always the unforeseen- like global warming and an economic meltdown. (That’s the point where the pioneers are separated from the weekend travelers.)
